An Old Fashioned Girl…

I am a Christian. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (also known as the Mormon Church). I started this blog to share some of my feelings on God, Christ and His Gospel. I know that God is my Eternal Father, and that Jesus Christ, His Only Begotten Son came to earth to save all who believe in His name. I believe that since that time, that the true authority was lost to the earth, and that a restoration was needed. Through Joseph Smith, the Lord revealed His will, and restored that proper authority. The Lord directed Joseph to translate an ancient record, known now as The Book of Mormon. I know this to be a book of scripture, similar to the Bible. It is another testament to the reality and divinity of Jesus Christ. It’s pages contain important doctrines that are not fully explained in the Bible. I believe that the Book of Mormon is one of the most correct books in this world. Through this restoration, the Lord appoints prophets to guide His people, just as He did in ancient days. I know that there is a living prophet upon this earth. He communicates with God. Of this I am certain.

I do not write these things to offend. I write because if I did not, the very rocks would cry out to proclaim the truth that has been revealed to me. These are my beliefs. I respect everyone’s beliefs, and hope that they would share the same values I do in that respect. I will never attack your religion. I will only share what I believe with you. If we have differences of opinions, please, let us not argue and create contention over those differences. I believe that one of the last things God wants is to have His children arguing over Him.

In light of my feelings on this,the following are some rules regarding posts:

I really only have one basic rule.

1) Be respectful of all religions, thoughts and comments from others. This includes NOT attacking their beliefs, or mine. If you have a problem with my religion, great, but please keep it to yourself. No one wants you to be ranting about why their church isn’t true. We’re all adults here, and we can all make decisions on our own.
